For those who are unable to sign the petition in person, letters of support are incredibly valuable and continue to make an impact. Many of you have already written to your MP, MLA, the Premier, Minister Dix, and Minister Neill and we can confirm these efforts have been noticed. That was the first step: building awareness. Now we need to strengthen that momentum with visible community support through both petitions and letters.

If you’re writing a letter, here are some helpful points you may wish to include:

• Your connection to Sandon (visitor, local, historian, business owner, etc.)
  
• Why places like Sandon, and its historic hydroelectric station, are important to you
  
• The value of preserving history for future generations
  
• What you personally love about Sandon (its history, people, setting, authenticity)
  
• Any experiences you’ve had visiting the site or touring the powerhouse
  
• Why supporting small, local hydroelectric producers matters
  
• The importance of fairness and sustainability in BC’s and Canada’s energy system
  
• Why this issue matters not just locally, but provincially and nationally
  
  

Every letter, whether short or detailed, helps reinforce that this is not just about one facility, but about heritage, community, and fairness.
