Klondike Silver Corporation
Things you need to know that they won’t tell you. The last real production from mining at Sandon ended in 1993 and the former Silvana Mine was placed in a “care and maintenance” designation. Treminco Resources Inc, the former mine operator, ultimately became insolvent. The surface land title to the contaminated mill site was allowed to forfeit to the Crown without any apparent government resistance. Klondike Silver Corp. (and its affiliated corporate names) are stock promotors from Vancouver. They do not own any surface titles in the Sandon area but they have acquired the old Silvana undersurface mineral rights and apparently have “options” on undersurface rights belonging to others. The ownership of the mill and tailings ponds is questionable. The bonding and insurances posted by Klondike to the Ministry of Energy and Mines (EMPR) are incredibly minimal, especially considering the risks, the recent disasters and the environmental damage Klondike has done previously. For the past 20 years Klondike has been spending stock market investor’s money in what appears to us to be a highly suspicious scheme. The Ministry of Energy, Mines and Petroleum Resources (EMPR) has also acted suspiciously. In our opinion Klondike Silver has all the optics of the classic stock promotion scams. EMPR has been exceptionally evasive and we question what appears to be a cozy relationship between Klondike’s promotors and individuals within EMPR. There are many obvious double standards and cover ups. Questions need to be directed to the top layers of EMPR about the shocking conduct of Klondike and officials within EMPR. This post is to expose issues that Klondike or EMPR don’t want you to know, and to prevent these issues from becoming another tragic chapter in Sandon’s history. So that everybody understands, we are keen supporters of genuine mine operators that take environmental and community considerations seriously in this essential industry. We have had reputable mining firms in Sandon in the past. However, ruthless stock promotors continue to seriously damage the reputation of the mining industry. Sandon has paid the price far too often in the past. We have no tolerance for cheaters and the damage they have done. We encourage you to take a close look at Klondike Silver and EMPR’s conduct (or lack of) and demand transparency and accountability from the individuals and agencies responsible. Sandon’s future needs your caring and concerns. Please be heard. < Questioning Klondike’s Responsibility for Damage to Idaho Peak Road > |
